David Moon founded Picnooga, a crowdfunded project that collected over 10,000 historical photos, original negatives, and small artifacts from Chattanooga, Tennessee’s past. The project was featured on NPR, The Daily Mail, and other local and regional media outlets, with millions of online views of Picnooga’s collection.
The photos collected featured Presidents, historical personalities, and events, like snapshots of Charles Lindberg, the Spirit of St. Louis, Bob Hope, and 19th-century siren Sarah Bernhardt. In collaboration with the Tennessee State Library and Archives, he helped make thousands of newspaper pages from the Chattanooga area available and searchable online.
David is now the Executive Director of Plant City History & Photo Archives and is ready for a new and refreshed era for the Archives.
